Proposed Arboretum-520 Path Would Separate Bikes from Traffic

The always excellent Seattlebikeblog has a post up showing a proposed trail through the Arboretum that would connect with 520 and create a continuous passage for bikes and pedestrians through the neighborhood without them having to do battle with vehicles on our busy roads. Remembering the many ugly accidents and injuries that cyclists, runners and pedestrians have suffered in Montlake over the years – this proposal is great news. More attention is needed to scrutinize how it integrates with the Arboretum, the 520 facilities and other regional trails, but just getting this on the radar of WSDOT and the city is much welcomed.

Please do consider attending the 520 Community Design Meeting on Thursday, April 12th to advocate for better bicycle and pedestrian access through Montlake. More here.
